Minor Demons

Profiles presented the Chicago premiere of this gripping story of murder in a small Pennsylvania town and its after effects. The story is told through the eyes of Deke Winters, a powerful lawyer for crime figures, who escapes his life of media exposure, drugs, and deceit by returning to his home town to practice law. But Deke is quickly assigned to defend a sixteen year old boy who admits to the murder and sexual assault of a young girl. The case is further complicated by the fact that Deke's best friend, Vince, the town police chief, did not follow proper procedure during the arrest and the boy could be released on a technicality. Deke's loyalty and conscience are tested as the play leads to a shattering climax.

"Well constructed and crisply written, 'Minor Demons' is an engrossing and gripping drama!"

- Lawrence Bommer, CHICAGO TRIBUNE

"A thoughtful and devastating play, well performed and tautly directed!"

- Diana Spinrad, CHICAGO READER
