Profiles presented this off-night production of Woody Allen shorts, featuring "Death Knocks," the story of Nat Ackerman, a middle-aged businessman who is visited one night by a mysterious figure claiming to be none other than Death himself. But Nat isn't ready to go and challenges Death to a game of Gin Rummy (he doesn't play Chess). If Nat wins, he can live one more day, but if he loses, it's off to the Happy Hunting Grounds. The program also included short works from Allen's early writing career, including satires on Abraham Lincoln, Count Dracula and Greek philosophers.
"An amusing collection of Allen gems, fast paced and fun!"
